MADE4LO with Politecnico
MADE4LO represents Lombardy’s first major experiment in the Industry 4.0 additive manufacturing sector. It features a network of interconnected physical and digital systems that exchange products and information through a distributed infrastructure.
Focusing on Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) technology, researchers from the Department of Mechanics at Politecnico di Milano—in collaboration with Lafranconi as the end-user—have developed an innovative steel exhaust produced using the BLM-Group’s Additube 3D printing system.
The core challenge for the additive manufacturing world lies in scale and geometric complexity. The final component measures 450 mm and was successfully printed in just 12 hours.
